About

Short fiction of mine has appeared in Dark Fiction Magazine, Mysterical-E, and Dark River Press. My initiation into creative writing began with my master’s thesis, translations of the ancient Roman poet Catullus.

My connections to Southeast Asia are both personal and professional. My mother-in-law immigrated from Vietnam in 1972; my children consider themselves Vietnamese-American, and our family regularly practices Buddhist traditions. Professionally, from 2000-2006, I worked in the jewelry industry and collaborated with vendors and agents in person in Bangkok.

Currently I am the lead developer at a small web agency in Asheville, North Carolina.
